The Dreaded Menopause Belly

I lived in a bit of a fantasy, believing that as I got older, I wouldn’t gain weight. I often heard older women say, “Just wait until you hit your late 40s or early 50s.” I brushed it off, convinced it wouldn’t happen to me. But life proved me wrong. Suddenly, I realised one day I didn’t have a waist anymore. Despite sticking to my usual diet and exercise routine, the weight began to pile on just as they had warned.

It completely caught me off guard. The strategies that had worked for me before were no longer effective. I started experimenting by eating less and increasing the intensity of my workouts, but all I ended up with was fatigue. Nothing seemed to work, and I felt completely lost.

It wasn’t until I accepted that things were different now that I began to see progress. I needed to change not only how I exercised but also what and how much I ate. By detoxifying my diet and altering my exercise routine, I was able to eat well while boosting my energy and maintaining my weight. It was a valuable lesson in adapting to the changes my body was experiencing.
